Here are some email lists that focus on women of color. If the

AAWOMLIT is a forum for discussing literature written by
African-American women. To subscribe, send the usual subscription

AFRO-TECHIES is a list for technically-inclined women of African
descent. Discussion topics include the World Wide Web, networking,
software applications, hardware technologies, operating systems, mailing
list management, programming, etc. An additional purpose of the list is
to find ways to expand the experience and knowledge of Black women about
technology. List members need not be technology or computer professionals
but should be actively engaged in technology and interested in learning

BOL is a moderated list "for people and organizations within South
Asia and outside to come together, discuss and work on issues of

discuss problems and solutions to the task of gender equality. More

that "focuses on Caribbean-American women of all ages professionals/other)
wanting to network or exchange thoughts on politics, development,
sexual/physical abuse of women, culture, and lifestyle issues." To

GIRLFRIEND provides a forum for Black women in cyberspace. Topics
are wideranging, including such issues as current events, spiritual
quests, travel, politics, hair, money, children, popular culture,
careers, sexuality, men, women. etc. "Girlfriends can be Black women by
birth or by choice (black-identified) of any political orientation and
sexual preference." You can subscribe from the GIRLFRIEND web site or by

for discussion of issues that come up in that work, especially issues

SAWNET (South Asian Women's NETwork) is a discussion group for women

SHAMS, a women and Islam forum, has been set up for the discussion
and debate of issues relating to the rights of women in Islam,

SISTERS NET is a women-only list for Muslim women. It provides
members with a supportive atmosphere in which to network with other
Muslim women, to discuss issues (e.g., birth control, polygamy) that
some would feel uncomfortable talking about with men, and to focus on
challenges, aspirations, and triumphs. To subscribe, fill out the

SUFIWOMEN-DIALOGUE is a forum for Sufi women from diverse cultural
backgrounds who share a dedication to the goals of Sufism and wish to
exchange ideas, traditions, concerns, and teachings. To subscribe, send a
message with a blank subject header to SUFIWOMEN-DIALOGUE-REQUEST@IAS.ORG. The body of the message should contain the single word SUBSCRIBE
THIRD WORLD WOMEN discusses issues related to the representations of
"Third World Women," including interrogating the construction of
