Internships & Fellowships
Today there are many options to start a career in teaching.
If you are a graduate to be, recent grad, or simply have become interested in teaching, we work with schools to provide you with an internship, or fellowship.
This allows you to see if teaching is what you want to do! It is very important to find out if teaching is what you want to do- BEFORE- you get your own classroom.
Think about it:
The best thing for students, is to have the most experienced teacher possible. I would submit that you are actually doing students a disservice, if you jump into emergency credentialing situations without training- and many people do, because they want to "do the right thing, and give back." Well, I would say- STOP! Think about it- why not become the best teacher you can, and then go and give back?
Internships and fellowships allow you to do that! Typically, you will be a co-teacher, with a Master teacher as your mentor, in the classroom. In single subjects (history, computers, science, etc.) it is slightly different, where you have a mentor, but s/he is in the department, not in the classroom. In addition, you should receive heavy professional development, lots of support and of course it is paid- StrateGenius only deals with internships where you get paid.
Compensation ranges from $14000, to $32,000- yes- for an internship! This is an incredible opportunity, to gain skills, see if teaching is your passion, really- and get a good salary, right out of college!
